This is wonderful. I don't know whether I like this better sung by a boy soprano or a female soprano. A woman can express all that emotion that a boy can't. But the innocence of the boy's singing makes it poignant in a different way. Either way this piece is so moving. Well, forgive me for only commenting on the famous one that everybody loves. One of these days I'll take the time to get to know the rest.
Faure wrote the Pie Jesu with a boy soprano in mind, but I love this version. I'm thinking I'll post the Pie Jesu & Agnus Dei from that same Cambridge performance by way of contrast.
