Yeah, this is really too cute, I have to admit. Her sister made her mane and ears (funky knitting yarn + egg-carton compartments + headband we had lying around) and painted her face.
And now the lion plans to reprise her costume at the All Saints party tomorrow: she will be Saint Jerome's lion.
She almost got conscripted to play a lion in the arena at the martyrdom of Sts. Perpetua and Felicity, but I'm not sure that came off. We did have a terrific All Saints party, and the head from the devil pinata came home with us and is currently sitting on my butler's-pantry counter.
