In My House the People Are Reading . . .
. . . King Lear, The Betrothed, Citizen Soldiers, that Louis de Wohl novel about Saint Benedict, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Josefina Learns a Lesson, Missee Lee, Kristin Lavransdatter (again, and again, and again, hoping to have some thinking space so as to say something about it, instead of just making lists and taking notes and calling them blog posts . . . )

Which translation of Kristin Lavransdatter?
Archer. Wasn't there an extended conversation about KL translations at LODW some time ago? I'd like to read the new one for comparison's sake, but Archer is what I have, and I'm honestly not bothered by the archaism of the language (though I understand there are passages left out?).
I keep thinking back to Maclin's "Is Kristin a Brat" post, too, and wanting to discuss not so much whether or not she's a brat, but the role of omen and the spirit world in her brattiness, if that makes sense.
But then I keep having to go do other things.
