Death and Life Have Contended

Christians, to the Paschal victim
offer your thankful praises!

A lamb the sheep redeemeth:

Christ, who only is sinless,
reconcileth sinners to the Father.

Death and life have contended

in that combat stupendous:
the Prince of life, who died,
reigns immortal.

Speak, Mary, declaring

what thou sawest, wayfaring:

"The tomb of Christ, who is living,

the glory of Jesus' resurrection;

"Bright angels attesting,

the shroud and napkin resting.

"Yea, Christ my hope is arisen;

to Galilee he will go before you."

Christ indeed from death is risen,

our new life obtaining;
have mercy, victor King, ever reigning!
Amen.

Thanks Sally! Christ is Risen! It is so difficult celebrating as Eastern Orthodox Palm Sunday today and Easter next week, last year we celebrated all together! May God bless you and your family as He has blessed us with your friendship! Love, Margie

I can imagine that it feels strange, especially for converts. How do your extended family deal with your having Easter a week later?

A blessed Holy Week to you all!

Hi Sally, I just saw your note here. This year Mark's parents came over after church and ate with us to celebrate their Easter Sunday and our Palm Sunday. They are so sweet. My mom sent Easter cards for the 8th, which is fine, Christ is Risen! Thank God that doesn't change with the date! God bless you, your writings are so encouraging! Thank you! Love,
Margie
