One of my longtime best friends -- in fact, the same friend who just sadly lost her sister -- lived in Scotland for a while when we were in college and started listening to Alison Moyet there. She introduced me to her music. I hadn't listened to her in a long, long time, but when I stumbled on this on YouTube, I knew it was my Coventry Carol for this year. Can't get enough of the texture of her voice -- and so good to hear an alto!

This is brilliant. I used to love her in Yaz so much when I was in my teens; in fact she was probably one of my major musical influences . . .
